Child-friendly concept: feeling safe at every stage

Our aim is to motivate your child to take an active part through a relaxed dental appointment – and to make the visit to the paediatric dentist a positive experience in child-friendly surroundings.

Your child should trust us and like coming to us. That is why it is important to come regularly from the very first tooth for check-ups, brushing and dietary advice and prophylaxis – while nothing hurts yet.

The whole team looks after you and your child at every stage of the treatment.

What our concept includes

Specially tailored to children – from the initial advice through to orthodontic care.

Dietary advice

What is good for the teeth and what harms them – explained in a way that works in everyday life, without wagging a finger.

Prophylaxis and brushing lessons

Individual prophylaxis, staining of plaque and practical exercises in the correct brushing technique.

Sealing and fluoridation

Fissure sealing and fluoride varnish as effective protection against decay on the chewing surfaces.

Composite fillings

Tooth-coloured composite fillings that give the baby tooth back its shape and function.

Crowns for baby teeth

If a filling no longer holds, a children's crown stabilises the tooth and protects it.

Space maintainers and children's dentures

So that after an early loss of a baby tooth the space for the permanent tooth is preserved.

Orthodontics

Early treatment in the primary dentition, correction in the mixed dentition and braces for adolescents.

Treatment without fear

Surface anaesthesia and, on request, nitrous oxide sedation for particularly sensitive children.

Preserving curiosity instead of creating fear

When children build a positive relationship with their dentist right from the start, this shapes their attitude to dental care and dentistry for the rest of their lives.

Children are interested in new things. It is precisely this curiosity and natural willingness to join in that we want to preserve and encourage – with time, explanations at eye level and an appointment that does not last longer than your child is willing to take part.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a paediatric dentist do differently from an ordinary dentist?
Above all the approach and the pace. Your child first gets to know the instruments and the sounds before they are used, every step is explained in a way suited to their age, and treatment takes place in a room designed especially for children. The materials, too, are matched to the baby teeth.
From what age do you treat children?
From the first baby tooth. The first check-up makes sense from about one year of age and is mainly about getting to know us and about advice.
How long does an appointment take with a small child?
No longer than your child is willing to join in. We prefer to work in several short appointments rather than in one long one where patience runs out towards the end.
What is a tooth-brushing school?
In it we practise the correct brushing technique with your child – first on a model, then on their own teeth. Beforehand we make the plaque visible with a harmless disclosing agent, so that your child can see where something is still missing.
What does preventive care for children include?
Check-up, dietary advice, professional cleaning, tooth-brushing school and fluoridation. Where needed, fissure sealing of the molars is added. From the age of six, cleaning and fluoride varnish are covered by the statutory health insurance twice a year.
